This year, we have received a record number of nominations and the quality of the nominees get better and better each year. We have received nominations ranging from people achieving at the highest levels in grassroots sports, to stories of total dedication and courage.
The judging panel will meet on Wednesday 28th October 2009, to decide on the short listed nominees. The short listed nominees will be announced in The Northern Echo, Local Heroes supplement on Saturday 31st October.
